What the System plugin is: the all-in-one 1.8.8 server core — lobby toolkit, economy, Vault layer, scoreboard, restarts, backups, chat moderation and cosmetics in one jar.
System is an all-in-one server core for Spigot 1.8.8: the lobby toolkit, economy, chat moderation, cosmetics, backups and the scheduled restart system, delivered in a single shaded jar built for the 1.8.8 API and NMS v1_8_R3. Sixteen toggleable subsystems plus the core admin tools ship in one build — every subsystem is switchable from config.yml, so the plugin can run a full hub or just the two or three pieces your network is missing. One purchase of EUR 15.00 covers the whole framework. The current stable line is 4.4, delivered through the license-gated update channel.
Each subsystem is a self-contained module with its own config file and its own master switch. This table mirrors the real feature set — nothing here is a roadmap item or an upsell, and every row is verifiable in your build the moment it boots.
| Subsystem | What it does |
|---|---|
| Lobby toolkit | Spawn point plus a random-spawn region defined by two corners, with anti-clustering (minimum distance between recent spawn points), teleport-on-join, void-fall rescue, opt-in double jump, lobby fireworks and the join-message engine |
| Economy | Internal economy: balances, race-safe /pay, /balance, admin /money give-take-set, MongoDB persistence with a Redis read-through cache and leaderboard. Ships disabled by default — one config line enables it (see Installation) |
| Vault service layer | Bundled Vault API registers real Permission, Chat and Economy providers (GroupManager and PermissionsEx hooks, plus a built-in fallback), so other plugins' Vault hooks keep working — with or without an external Vault plugin |
| Scoreboard | Title + lines from scoreboard.yml, every line PlaceholderAPI-resolved on a 20-tick refresh, with the PAPI work staggered across bucket tiers (default 4) so per-tick cost stays flat under load |
| Restart scheduler | Daily restart at a configurable local time and timezone (default 04:00, Asia/Tehran), minute- and second-level countdown broadcasts, a last-minute protocol that locks chests, movement and chat, and a pre-shutdown backup the shutdown waits for |
| Backup manager | tar+gzip archives of configured folders (default world + plugins): worlds saved first, archive written to a temp file and atomically moved, retention keeps the newest 3 — plus OP-triggered and boot-count backup triggers |
| ServerLoginLock | Kicks logins during the startup window and while CPU/memory exceed configurable thresholds, with separate unlock thresholds (hysteresis) and a staff whitelist |
| World protection | Per-world build rules with a per-player /system build override, sleep and weather blockers, auto-closing doors, trapdoors and fence gates, and stair seating on hidden armor stands |
| Chat moderation | AntiCaps with progressive decapitalization, AntiSwear with a shipped 6,131-entry regex word list and private-message command filtering, world-level ChatBlocker, and AntiAfk with staged warnings |
| Chat & cosmetics | 39 chat emojis that work in chat, signs, books, anvil renames and Essentials private messages, an interactive /book system, 33 decorative animations with crash recovery, ItemJoin hotbar kits and AutoFly |
Plenty of 1.8.8 plugins hard-code a lookup for a plugin literally named Vault — and on a bare server, that lookup fails. System solves this at the class level: it bundles the Vault API and registers genuine Permission, Chat and Economy providers behind it. When no external Vault plugin is installed, System additionally registers itself in the server's plugin lookup under the name "Vault", so third-party plugins that call for "Vault" resolve to System and their hooks keep working. The alias is a compatibility bridge, not a claim of being Vault.
When a real Vault plugin is present, the alias stays passive and System's providers coexist by priority — GroupManager and PermissionsEx get reflective hooks, and a class-identity diagnostic warns if both sides ever load duplicate Vault API classes. The economy subsystem is gated on Vault availability in either form: an external Vault plugin or System's built-in vault addon. That is the whole trick, stated plainly.
System has zero hard dependencies — it installs and runs on a bare 1.8.8 server, and every optional integration degrades gracefully when absent. MongoDB 4.0+ adds economy persistence, Redis 5.0+ adds the economy read-through cache, and PlaceholderAPI unlocks placeholders in the scoreboard, join messages and book pages. GroupManager, PermissionsEx and Essentials are supported as richer permission and chat providers where present. You can add any of them later without reinstalling anything.
