The complete command table: 24 setup subcommands, 8 admin subcommands with real permission nodes, and the 10 player commands gated by levels — not permissions.
The Pit registers its commands at runtime, and their permission model is a design statement: player commands have no permission nodes — they are gated by levels instead, exactly like the game that inspired the genre. Only the admin and setup surface uses permission nodes (thepit.setup, thepit.economy, thepit.build, thepit.reset, or the wildcard thepit.*), all defaulting to op. The full surface splits into three tables.
All setup subcommands require thepit.setup (or thepit.*) and only load while setup mode is active. They place the world's features — run them in the order the in-game helper suggests, or drive the whole flow from /thepit gui.
| Command | What it places |
|---|---|
/thepit setmap | Teleport into the pit world to build |
/thepit setlobby / removelobby | The lobby spawn point |
/thepit setspawn / removespawn | The main arena spawn |
/thepit setspawnregion / removespawnregion | The two-corner spawn-protection region |
/thepit setpithole / removepithole | The pit-hole region plus its hologram |
/thepit setnpc / removenpc | One of the 6 NPC types (stats, shop, upgrades, keeper, prestige, quest master) |
/thepit setrandomgold / removerandomgold | Random gold spawn points |
/thepit setenderchest / removeenderchest | Enderchest positions |
/thepit setunlockedfeatureshologram / removeunlockedfeatureshologram | The feature-unlock hologram |
/thepit setevent / removeevent | Event regions and holograms (koth / carepackage / ragepit) |
/thepit setspawnpos <n> / removespawnpos <n> | Numbered custom respawn positions |
/thepit gui | The guided setup GUI for beginners |
/thepit setupprogress | The setup checklist with remaining steps |
/thepit disablesetup | Leave setup mode — a controlled restart boots full mode |
Eight admin subcommands cover economy edits, building and the reset hammer. Each carries its own node, all defaulting to op — grant them by node, not by wildcard, where you can.
| Command | Permission | What it does |
|---|---|---|
/thepit level <set|add|subtract> <player> <n> | thepit.economy | Edit a player's level (max 120, works on offline players) |
/thepit prestige <set> <player> <n> | thepit.economy | Edit a player's prestige (max 35) |
/thepit gold <set|give|take> <player> <n> | thepit.economy | Edit a gold balance |
/thepit renown <set|give|take> <player> <n> | thepit.economy | Edit a renown balance |
/thepit bounty <set|give|take> <player> <n> | thepit.economy | Edit a bounty |
/thepit build | thepit.build | Toggle your own build mode in the arena |
/thepit reset <player> | thepit.reset | Delete ALL of a player's data rows (profile, stats, perks, chat options) and kick them — the nuclear option |
/thepit enablesetup | thepit.setup | Re-enter setup mode (restarts the server into the setup flow) |
Ten standalone player commands cover the day-to-day game. None of them checks a permission node — each unlocks at a level, mirroring the original Pit's design where progression *is* the permission. The unlock table is also the reference for your holograms' feature list.
| Command | Level gate | What it does |
|---|---|---|
/pchat (alias /pitchat) | level 5 | The chat options GUI — 7 personal toggles |
/upgrades | level 10 | Permanent upgrades + perks GUI |
/enderchest | level 15 | Open the enderchest (physical arena chests too) |
/contracts | level 30 | The daily/weekly contracts GUI |
/stats [player] | level 50 | The stats GUI, for yourself or others |
/trade <player> / accept / cancel | level 60 | Request, accept or cancel a trade — double-confirmed on both sides |
/view <player> | level 70 | View another player's inventory and gear |
/prestige | level 120 (or already prestiged) | The prestige GUI |
/gold (alias /coins) | none | Show your gold balance |
/spawn (alias /respawn) | none | Respawn at the pit spawn — 10-second cooldown, blocked while in combat or as the beast |
Two practical reasons, both honest. First, design faithfulness: the Pit experience is built around unlock levels — chat at 5, perks at 10, enderchest at 15, contracts at 30, stats at 50, trade at 60, view at 70, prestige at 120 — and a permission mirror of that would be eleven more nodes to misconfigure for zero benefit. Second, operations: player commands need no permission plugin wiring at all, so a fresh Pit server works on any permissions setup (or none). Admin power stays exactly where it belongs — in the thepit.* nodes above, all defaulting to op.
Tip:Run /thepit with no arguments as an admin: it prints the version and a clickable list of the subcommands available to you — the fastest way to discover the exact surface on your build.
Note:The level gates are hard-coded progression values (like the 120 cap and the prestige ladder), so they are consistent across every Nerotek Pit server — a player's unlocks mean the same thing on your network as on the demo.
