Solo, Doubles, Triples and Quads arenas, plus Multi-Arena, BungeeCord, Auto-Scale and Shared server modes.
BedWars supports the four classic team formats and every server topology a network needs. Both are configuration choices — the same download, the same license, no separate editions.
Each arena can be configured for Solo, Doubles, Triples or Quads. Mode-specific behavior — team sizes, shop content, generator rates — is handled automatically, and multiple arenas can run different modes simultaneously on the same server. Switching an arena's mode is a single command (/bw settype (type)), so you can react to what your players actually queue for instead of what you guessed last month.
| Mode | Players per team |
|---|---|
| Solo | 1 |
| Doubles | 2 |
| Triples | 3 |
| Quads | 4 |
| Topology | How it works |
|---|---|
| Multi-Arena | Several arenas on one server, managed by an internal queue. |
| BungeeCord | One arena per server, connected to the lobby through the dedicated BedWarsProxy plugin. |
| Auto-Scale | The proxy signals your infrastructure to start or stop game servers based on player demand, with zero manual work. |
| Shared | A single arena instance shared across multiple servers (advanced setups). |

type: multi-arena # multi-arena | bungee | auto-scale | sharedEach topology is a config value, not a different download. You buy once and can migrate between setups as your network grows. For networks, the included BedWarsProxy handles queues, matchmaking and scaling — see BungeeCord, Proxy & Auto-Scale.
/bw shout command sends messages to everyone in the arena, and team-only chat is the default during matches, keeping team strategies private while allowing public calls when it matters.Tip:Under full load the plugin holds a locked 20 TPS: generators run on a smart schedule, all database work happens off the game thread, and scoreboards, holograms and health indicators refresh only when their data actually changes.
